THE FOUNDER OF THE ASYLUM
PASTOR JOSE ANTONIO GALVAN
Former Street Person.
Former Gang Member.
The asylum was designed as a place where residents can receive a better quality of life by being provided with nourishing food, clean clothes, gentle care and the attention and treatment they so desperately deserve. Thankfully the Juarez, Mexico community agreed with Pastor Galvan's vision and openly embraced the mission statement of the asylum and offered support to benefit each inhabitant of the facility. To this day, several general practitioners, psychiatrists, psychologists, dentists and volunteers from numerous walks of life join in and continue to strive to help ease the burden of the asylum's heavy workload.
When asked by the photographer what the asylum's greatest need is, the Pastor replied, "A Transition plan. Someone whom the LORD will raise up to take over when I am gone. That is the asylum's greatest need."
